Baltic amber is fossil resin produced by pine trees, which grew in Northern Europe — which is now the present-day Scandinavia and nearby regions of the bed of the Baltic Sea (the formation of the Baltic Sea only began 13 thousand years ago) where conifer forests grew more than 55 million years ago. The region’s climate became warmer and conifer trees started to exude large amounts of resin. Today there is no one type of pine, which has similar characteristics to those of the fossil trees. Baltic amber is uniquely known for its quality and is the most sought after amber worldwide.
Baltic amber is a natural analgesic, used for it anti-inflammatory and therapeutic properties, which have therefore been know to assist with relieving the symptoms of teething. By wearing Baltic amber beads against the skin allows the oxidized surface of the amber to release natural healing oils (succinic acid), which has a positive effect on the nervous system, the heart, and the kidneys and stimulates recovery processes by aiding the reduction of acidity in the body.
